            DALMENY CHURCH

12th century Norman. One of the best remaining examples in Scotland of Romanesque architecture. Dedicated to St Cuthbert, the church stands in the middle of Dalmeny village, which is part of Dalmeny estate, owned by Lord Rosebery. At one time (circa 1000 A.D.) the area was part of the Kingdom of Northumbria, thus the connection to Durham and St Cuthbert.
