EAST TERRACE
East Terrace forms one of the finest rows of buildings in Queensferry. The
houses date from the 17th and 18th centuries, and the terrace is raised
above the High Street, providing a fine prospect of the Forth, with,
latterly, that of the Forth Bridge. Beneath the houses is a row of shops
which may at one time have formed the basement areas of the houses, but
which are now separate.
To the rear of these houses are the big gardens, or 'Lang Riggs' which are
protected as part of the conservation area, and in which no buildings or
garages are allowed
