JACOBS LADDER

Jacobs Ladder is the long stair leading from the back of the Hawes Inn up to the cycle/walkway under the Forth Bridge. It was originally used for the transfer of rail passengers to and from the ferry at the Hawes Pier from Newhalls Station but for many years now it has been a pedestrian link. The stair fell into disrepair, but after efforts by the Community Council and City Council, using grants from Almond Neighbourhood Partnership and Network Rail, work has now been completed to refurbish the stairs.
JACOBS LADDER REOPENED ON 3 JULY 2009
