PORT EDGAR - CONSULTATION RESULTS
PROPOSALS TO REFURBISH THE MARINA AND SURROUNDING AREA
The City of Edinburgh Council has presented proposals for the refurbishment of Port Edgar Marina and the Sailing School facilities. A public display of the proposals was held at Port Edgar on 20/21 January 2006.
The plans include the
repositioning of the retail and workshop areas, the introduction of car parking
and boat storage facilities, construction of a public area with shops etc,
having flats above. Improvements in the marina facilities for boat
mooring, lifting, storage, and weather protection.
Construction of flats and town houses, and access from east and west of the
site.

The Community Council attended, and provided a 'participatory appraisal' stand, for visitors to record their comments and impressions of the proposals. In addition, a visitor profile - age sex and home location - was conducted. Comments have been collated and are available here.
