Great!!! Housing development and dinghy park.

I would like it to be built sooner.

Will sailing at Marina become more expensive & exclusive?

More cars, more emissions, less trees, more pollution, what about schools!

Is the objective to improve boating facilities or do the minimum for the actual Marina  while selling the land.

Too much housing - leave room for expansion of Marina and sailing facilities in the future.

The Marina is being squeezed out for the residential developments.

No mention of environmentally friendly energy devices being utilised on site.

Will marina be drowned out by housing?  Parking?

How much money is anticipated from developers & how much of this will be put into Marina improvements?

I like it as it is.

Like it the way it is.

Traffic, traffic, traffic.  Can't walk up buy anything - not even a pint of milk.

Move of Scout Hall appeal so West access does not seem sensible (except to keep things neat!).

What are schooling proposals?

One thing to be assumed another big blunder by the planners.

Is the objective Marina improvement or emphasis on £/developer.  Needs a fairer balance.

Birds seem to be more important than the Marina and better thought of.

Insufficient infrastructure and public facilities for further development in South Queensferry.  Not enough investment by Edinburgh Council.

This is a thinly disguised housing development with greatly reduced facilities for sailing.  The boat storage facilities are inadequate.

The mud flat should be infilled and used for hard standing.  It is a man-made mud flat.  The SSSI people have too much clout.

On a pad this size it is not possible to go into all the practical (from a boat owners point of view) defects in these plans.

Logic states houses will be built and sold first then the rest of the development is their guarantee that it will be completed in time and before money runs out.

Is this development staged or does the whole place shut down for the building phase?

Impact on Queensferry infrastructure - schools etc.

No room for expansion.

Plenty evidence of serving sailing school and Council needs.  Don't see much evidence of supporting those active in the sport.

Just seems like an excuse for a new expensive residential development which happens to have a Marina attached.

The land belongs to the people of Edinburgh and should not be sold off to upgrade an amenity that would be fine if properly managed.  The new plan reduces facilities for sailors.

Still overdevelopment of residential housing causing major traffic problems such as access, and will cause additional parking problems - which are severe at present.

Approved in principle subject to: 1) access to Marina, 2) Parking, 3) Security

Like the idea overall but the devils in the detail - design of houses, access.

An exciting opportunity to develop a run down naval base and provide a new future for the land.

Very impressed if similar to Inverkip Marina.

Better than last time - flats only 4 high

At last funding for a great idea for the use and fun for everybody who owns boats and likes to look at them.

Yes, but will it even happen - existing buildings becoming uninhabitable before replacements ready.

Overall the plan looks good - glad that the environmental issues are being carefully considered.

Looks very good.  Only concern is road access and parking.

Glad to see something being done here at last.  This could be Queensferry's new 'centre'.  (It was first predicated here!).

Currently like 'shops' Chandllry, Queensferry Metalworks etc.

Generally good for improving Queensferry.

A very exciting display.  Encouraging to think of it in future.  Access is crunch factor.

This could transform the Marina for the better.

Much better than Leith or Granton plans.

Looks good, if it ever happens.  Hope it does.

Get on with it!!

New slip.  Overall look of project.

 Well balanced proposal.  Looks good.

Looks positive and imaginative.  Timing to preserve facilities (especially winter boat storage) during transition is essential.

Much better than last plans, more in keeping with the area - remember to look after the small businesses.

Exciting opportunity for Port Edgar to become a valuable and inclusive part of SQ community.

As a starting point it looks excellent.  (I just need to live long enough to see it!)

It would be another incentive for visitors to come to SQ, particularly if the retain units were utilised.

Very good to see high quality presentation and consultation at this stage.

Like improvements.

Improvement to the area is well overdue.  Proposed plans look interesting, however, in-depth housing plans should be available now!  Overall, I feel it will bring prosperity to S. Queensferry.

Looks good generally.

Impressive development.  Public space/restaurant could be an attraction.

Looks very impressive.

Getting better environmentally but far from perfect.

It looks a good plan.  Make sure all local residents and businesses are consulted every step.

Pleasing appearance.

Environmental impact - like idea of turf roofs on buildings.  May help conservation of wild flowers or orchids (especially in main car park).

An improvement on what's here at present.  Public space.

The design looks fine and a big improvement on the present situation - car parking might be a problem.

Long overdue update of Marina required.  Plans look good for the Marina - not sure about the houses!

Okay in principle but depends on standard and number of proposed housing.

Imaginative scheme - hope it goes ahead.

Good enhancement for whole area and town.  Will bring some like to area outside 9-5 times.

Good, lets get Port Edgar sorted.  Do not force it's history - arrangements must be kept.

Impressed with initial plans.

Good business venture - good for S. Queensferry and employment potential.

Scout Group are pleased our 'new' building is retained.  Concern about possible loss of the 'back green' ground space.

Much needed upgrade of Marina will benefit the residents of South Queensferry, shops & small businesses.  Hopefully the Council will try and create opportunities within the Marina to improve the recreation facilities that are sadly lacking in South Queensferry.  I agree with the redevelopment but the Council must ensure the correct infrastructure is in place to make it the success it deserves.  Good luck.

The development looks very good and is long overdue.  A decent slipway, charging facilities and sailing club building.  I really like the look of Marina building sailing school.

A clean up of this whole area will enhance Queensferry.

Café's and restaurants in public area.

Consideration of environmental issues.

I like it all.

Could be a European class Marina which will attract foreign yachts (visitor berth?)

Like proposed café area to sit out on summer evenings while family is sailing.

Best proposals so far. Balance between housing & Marina has improved.

Would love to be able to sit at a good café whilst waiting for the family!

Well thought out & attractive plan (amenities & environment).

I'm glad that you're cleaning up the mud.

Development of the Marina & facilities.

Marina design very good.

At long last.

I like the plans for the sailing school and getting rid of the mud so I won't lose any more shoes.

General plan looks ok compared to last proposal.  Should encourage more tourists.

Attractive overall layout - but only is sailing facilities maintained - quality & quantity.

Should the development proposal fail, the Marina is likely to close anyway & is then open to larger less desirable housing proposals.  *Very much in favour of developments.

Overall idea good, provided sailing activities take precedence but how tall will block of flats be?  Granton is a horror.

Significant development of under utilised site long overdue.  Housing offering affordable units to local population will be improvement.

Planning gain should be got to install pavement along single-track road to Hopetoun House - to go further to increase amenity for new local residents.

Great to see something being done to enhance the Marina - need to be care the "needs" of the developer to make money doesn't dominate the objective of improving the Marina.

Costs must not drive away the middle-income owner.

Don't doubt the site needs developed so some plans look good.

Something has to be done with current site.

Very good.  Just what we need.  Will revitalise the area.  But more thought required about winter storage of boats.

Principle of public space and shops, cafes etc. - provided this is accessible - free parking - at least for berth holders.

Impressed - get going.

Seems to provide a decent balance between housing/business in the area.

Port Edgar has got a lot of potential - the plans are impressive.

Worth waiting on.

Like general idea.

Green space & public access part of plan is good, this would have to be protected.  Concern the house developer would want to encroach.

The Scouts need to be shown inclusively in the plans.  Already created new facility with hundreds
of users every week.

                                    CHANGES/IMPROVEMENTS

No mention of Scouts either with existing new facilities or as marina/site users.

Will the marina be able to bring in enough income to be self supporting.

Make housing developer stick to existing plans & height!

Not wind power - kill birds.

Transition management is essential, especially for boat storage in winter.

Reduce number of housing units to reduce impact on existing roads etc.

Has there been "cross border" consideration/discussions with West Lothian Council.  Opportunity exists to improve access to Hopetoun House - beneficial to both.

Can access be linked in with Scottish Executive.  Lans for 3rd bridge - large suitable area available.

Would like to see Boardway right round Harbour area.  Infill to Inners Hotel Road to make success.

Need to have full marina facilities, not the bare minimum.

Is marina business to be separate from total business park and sailing school costs.

Not enough housing therefore not enough money for a viable marina.

We pay City of Edinburgh Council Tax so why can't other City of Edinburgh land be sold to purely fund the marina?  (It ??? Of having your cake and eating it otherwise).

Make look of place sympathetic to Scottish Architecture not just like every other (decent) marina.

Overdue.  Could be more radical. More thought re design.  Opportunity to push design ideas.

Will Council invest from  extra Council tax into the Ferry?

Not much info on the housing bit.  Suspect that Edinburgh Council are deliberately keeping quiet on that.  Still do not that Housing is necessary - easy option for Council.

Woodland - bear in mind current uses of woodland: dog walking, kids, BMX-Mountain bike & self built/built courses.

Anxious that the design reflects Scottish Architecture rather than "dignified" Mediterranean look.

CHANGES/IMPROVEMENTS CONTINUED

Marina could run guest wing/B&B for visitors - visiting yachts.

Ideal location for swimming pool rather than so many houses.  Could incorporate diving, canoeing etc. Queensferry needs it!!

There needs to be less residential space and more dingy parks.

What safeguards are there for trees/boundaries/security given the extent of the building = it will look barren.

I would like a children play area.

Council does not! Do enough for Queensferry.  All taxpayers money goes to the City.  Just not enough facilities.  Get it changed now! Diabolical.

Think you have to reconsider the access route.  150 houses are too many! For the usual reasons!

Environmental improvements - renewable energy - eco buildings - pedestrian/cycle route access.

Security - when open to public/housing.  Cost - will marina fees go up?

If fees don't go up - it'll be great value to boat owners.

Swimming pool in new development.

Consider architectural competition - international due to proposed World Heritage site.

Has the energy supply been considered in terms of using renewable energy ie. Wind, solar, or tidal.  Don't omit this.

Insufficient info about housing.

Unclear issues - type of residential property / public transport links / parking sufficient for residents/yachts/visitors.

Visit Largs - look at boat park & car park - is the area large?

How will the architects be chosen?

There should be more bins so there is less litter.

I would like a new swimming pool.

The marina makes a profit - why is this not used.
